Dear Mr. Van Allen: I am writing to commend the outstanding service we have experienced from Jon Shultz in our recent move from Everett, WA to Star, ID. When our kids moved with three of our grandkids from Lynnwood, WA to a new home they had built at Cartwright Ranch we started to consider also moving to Idaho. We had started researching the greater Boise area and I had preliminarily decided that Eagle or Meridian might fit our criteria. We were working with a Realtor who was a close friend and only lived a few houses from us in order to get our home ready and on the market. He asked us if we would like him to try to find us a Realtor in the Eagle area to help us with the home search on the Idaho end, and we readily agreed that if he could find us someone as conscientious and hard-working as he was, we would be very grateful. Several days later he told us he had done some inquiry and had come up with the names of two relocation specialists in this area whom he had vetted. He thought either would probably do a good job for us, but we asked him which was the most like him and he told us he thought we would work well with Jon Shultz I called Jon and found him to be a very cheerful and positive professional who listened to our description of what we were interested in as far as location, and the size of the lot and size and style of the home and our tentative price range. Jon listened very well and asked excellent clarifying questions. He included both my wife Emmy and me in the conversation and we were both impressed with how well he listened. Our initial good impression was quickly strengthened even more when he sent us the first batch of listings that met our general criteria the next day and immediately followed up with a phone call to get our feed back. Again he listened well and over the next week or so with Jon’s help we quickly refined our wish list. We knew we needed to visit the area together and decided that as the kids were moving into their home on July 14 we would fly to Boise, get a hotel and car and get acquainted with the area and see some homes from July 18 through the 21st. Jon immediately offered to spend as much of that time with as we needed. He was as good as his word! He spent at least a half day or more with us every day, showing us homes and giving us suggestions of neighborhoods that might be of interest to us. When we weren’t with Jon we also drove around Boise, Eagle, Star, Meridian, and Hidden Springs. I spent evening hours perusing Google Earth and Maps familiarizing myself with the area roads, towns, and neighborhoods and made frequent calls to Jon to pick his brain. He was always available or got back to us very promptly. He treated us like we were his highest priority, and when we flew home we felt like we had a new friend. Over the next week and a half we talked and texted often several times a day. We saw how quickly available homes went from new listings to pending, often within a day or two and realized we would have to move very quickly if we saw something we really wanted. On Wednesday morning, July 29th, we saw a new listing in Star with just an architects drawing of the front and a floor plan and the usual description of the lot and the development. We thought it was just what we were looking for, thought we had actually driven through the development in our exploration of Star, and immediately called Jon, who then called the listing agent. She said she had received a dozen inquiries within the past two hours, and Jon offered to go take some pictures for us. He did better than that! He sent us an iPhone video tour as well as stills of the framed and dried-in house and the little lake and said he knew the builder, Ted Mason, and that he was one of the very best in the entire area. He thought we would really like it and he was certain it would be a top-quality home. By now we totally trusted him and immediately began putting together a cash offer for a little above the listing price, hoping for a quick acceptance, and Jon notified the listing agent that we would be submitting a cash offer that evening. Of course, there had to be a few hiccups along the way, and for some reason we couldn’t get the DocuSigning to work correctly and had to try multiple times! Jon stuck with us late into the night and we were finally able to get all initials and signatures to work correctly and the papers were finally signed and submitted around 11 PM which was around midnight for Jon. What a trooper! Our offer was accepted, and Jon continued to shepherd us through the rest of the process of submitting the earnest money and the financial disclosures of funding. We put our home in Everett on the market August 5th and sold it for cash above listing price on August 9th and closed on September 4th. We flew back to Boise August 16 through 18 and met John at the home site and finally got to actually see what we were buying. We were thrilled to see that it was even better than we had hoped for! Jon continued to spend many hours with us, keeping abreast of the construction progress and keeping us informed as we packed and began the moving process. He paid attention to every detail, answered our many questions and was an outstanding liaison between us and Ted Mason, who was every bit as good as Jon had said. Jon had promised to be with us every step of the way and he certainly delivered on that promise! We have already given his name to several of our friends who are considering moving to the area and we have also given a good report to our Realtor in Everett, who has assured us that he will refer clients who are considering a move to this area, to Jon for excellent service. Jon Shultz’s integrity and professionalism are of the highest caliber and he is an outstanding representative of Coldwell Banker Tomlinson. We would heartily recommend him to anyone looking for a superb Realtor.
